Hola! Last night I arrived in Santiago; after a long day of traveling, we arrived here at about 8:15pm. There were 11 people from the program who arrived at the same time, including Katelyn, my friend and roommate. After going through customs and getting our baggage, we were greeted my members of the ISA staff, and loaded onto a bus that dropped us off at our host families houses. Katelyn and I were first! We live in a gated apartment complex, and it's actually nicer than I think I expected. We each have our own bedrooms with plenty of furniture to put all of our things in. Our house mother then served us dinner, we had chicken, vegetables and a kind of cracker/bread thing... I can't remember the name! The family was extremely nice, and welcoming and made us feel as at home as we could on our first day in a foreign country. When we got ready for bed it was weird to have to brush our teeth with bottled water, it will be something to get used to. Today we have our first day of orientation at the university. I can't wait to get outside and see what the city looks like during the day!
Hola! Anoche, llegue en Santiago; después de un día largo de viajar, llegamos a las 8 y 15. Había 11 personas de la programa que llegaron a la misma tiempo, incluyendo Katelyn, mi amiga y compañera de cuarto. Después de pasar por la migración y tomar nuestros maletas, conocimos de miembros de la ISA, subimos un autobús que nos traigo a nuestra casa! Nos vivimos en un apartamento con una verja, que actualmente es más elegante que esperaba. Tenemos nuestras propias cuartos con muchos muebles para todas nuestras cosas. Nuestra madre nos sirvió la cena, comimos pollo, vegetales, y algo como pan o galletas que no puedo recordar la nombre. La familia era muy simpática y nos hicieron sentir como en casa tanto como era posible en nuestra primer día en un país extranjero. Cuando nos preparamos para dormir, era extraño lavarse las dientes con agua de una botella, será algo para acostumbrarme. Hoy, tenemos nuestra primer día de orientación a la universidad. ¡No puedo esperar para ser en aire libre y para ver como aparece la cuidad durante el día!
