Second to last week

When they told us that we would have tons of schoolwork piled on us at the last minute.... they weren't kidding. I'm suddenly having to finish a 500 page book, write a 7 page paper, prepare 2 presentations, and keep up with the regular daily homework! I'm not letting it get me down though, still having a great time! The other day, Katelyn and I ended up in a water balloon fight on the roof of our building with our oldest brother and his friend.... don't ask how or why it started, all that matters is that it was fun!
Yesterday was the 4th of July, so of course it was weird being abroad for it. We went to Square One to eat though, and because they know that so many of the American exchange students go there, they decorated for the 4th of July, so we still got to have our own little celebration. Also got to go out clubbing yesterday for free because Wednesday nights are ladies night. I would say it was still a good 4th of July in my home away from home.
Today Katelyn and I went to the Calle del Sol to do some shopping for gifts to bring back home, and if I may say so myself, we are quite the good bargainers at the market. We got great deals of everything!
Tomorrow we are heading to Jarabacoa for an excursion, and although I am extremely exhausted due to the lack of sleep from going out last night, going to the Calle del Sol, and working on homework for the rest of the day, I hardly think I will be able to sleep well because out Haitian neighbors seem to be having a party. They must not understand that most people like to sleep at night, because they never seem to! That is the one bad thing about living in such close quarters in apartments like this, we can hear people partying late into the night, singing  in the shower, practicing their saxophones, and the nonstop yelping of their dogs. It's okay though, all part of the experience!
Adios until next time!

Going out for ladies night!
